Hi, I'm Dayna Kneeland, your storytelling coach

As a former professional actor, storytelling coach, and daughter of a renowned storyteller, I have witnessed the power of storytelling my entire life.

I've seen coaches too insecure to speak finally step into the spotlight with, a "can't take our eyes off you" presence once they had a compelling story to share.

I've read clients' stories in their marketing and immediately felt understood and ready to take that next step forward.

And I've watched my dad light up a room, train incredible coaches, and pretty much get whatever he wanted all through telling a great story.

A passionate educator with an MEd in Adult Education, I've now been speaking, teaching, and growing my business through the power of storytelling for over 20 years.

What we will do together

This hands-on, small group, 8-week live group program will provide you with the skills, support, and strategy to craft signature stories you can use in your coaching and marketing.

I have developed a step-by-step process to ensure you walk away feeling confident and excited to share captivating stories that will get you results.

STEP 1 - DISCOVERY PROCESS

First, I’ll help you to feel confident in your creative process and understand the power of storytelling in your business.

Then, you will gain skills & support to harness a storytelling mindset, overcome blocks, and recognize how to tell stories that are personal yet professional.

STEP 2 - EDUCATIONAL STORY

Next, you will learn how to craft a great story and identify your key story themes.

I will introduce you to 5 Core Business Stories that will set you apart within the coaching industry.

Then, I will teach you how to craft an Educational Story to illustrate a key concept and capture attention when you are coaching, teaching, or sharing educational content in your marketing.

STEP 3 - ORIGIN STORY

Next, I will guide you through the process of discovering and developing your Origin Story, a story that highlights how your business came to be and the unique problem you solve for your clients.

I will teach you how to craft two versions of your Origin Story, one for your website and one for a speaking event.

Finally, I will help you understand how to edit your story and provide you with a Story-Editing Checklist.

Live Group Calls

Our small group of up to 12 participants will meet over Zoom for 1.5 hours/week for 8 weeks to discuss and review core concepts, get progress support and feedback, and ensure that you feel confident at each point of the process.

Step-by-Step Training Videos

In addition to weekly calls, you will gain access to recorded video training modules that break down learning content into core concepts and clear, sequential action steps.

Step-by-step handouts

You will receive resources and an Origin Story and Educational workbook so you can easily put what you learn into action.

A small group editing team

You will also be placed in a small accountability and editing support team to maximize your learning and the support you receive.

An exclusive Facebook group

Finally, you will become a member of an exclusive Facebook group where you will be able to ask questions and share portions of stories in progress for feedback from me and group members.

My Story

My dad was a masterful teacher and therapist who used the power of storytelling to train coaches, create community, and transform lives.

After he died, over 90 stories he told were gathered with the hope to continue his legacy.

My love of storytelling intensified as a stage actor.

One night, on stage, under the hot light, in front of 300 people, I had a moment that changed my life.

I had been cast as a narrator for the first time. Despite years of training, there I was, knees knocking, dripping with sweat, feeling naked without a scene partner.

Suddenly, I was telling a story about the lived experience of war to a sea of elderly faces when I was struck by a profound feeling of interconnectivity... as if a light switched on that we could all see.

I realized that I was a vehicle. It was humbling in a way I’d never forget.

From then on, I knew my passion was to teach, but not actors in character…I wanted to help others feel confident stepping into the spotlight and sharing their stories in their everyday lives.

I became obsessed with community-engaged theatre and helped people living with multiple barriers overcome stage fright and share personal stories with their community.

I witnessed shyness and insecurities transform into confidence, as stories were crafted and delivered with purpose and impact.

My students told me that I was helping them to break their fear of speaking publicly and know that they could help others by sharing their own stories.

Years later my friend Reena and I were sitting in my living room, high on chai lattes, with flip chart paper everywhere. She was helping me hash out my next project…the work I would do off the side of my desk while I paid my bills in less fulfilling roles.

Reena put down her mug and gave me a kind but firm gaze. "You have a Masters's degree in Adult Education. You have been teaching, speaking, and storytelling for over 20 years...get over your fear and start a business so you can have a bigger impact."

The moment she said it, I knew it was true.
